Trillium Native Landscapes, Inc. is a design-build landscape firm dedicated to helping our clients create landscapes that are comfortable, usable, and beautiful.  Trillium specializes in flowers, grasses, trees and shrubs that are native to the Midwest.  These native materials have many benefits:

Native Garden Design

• Butterfly Gardens include plants that attract a variety of native butterflies, while enhancing any setting, including entrance ways, patios, or driveways. Native plants are drought-resistant and remain healthy and blooming with little care, even during the height of summer when most lawns are drying out and turning brown.
  


• Prairie and Savanna Plantings are cost-saving solutions to unused edge areas. These short- or tallgrass prairie plants are rich with flowers and grasses. While native plantings require some care, they need much less than traditional lawns and gardens. The reasons are simple! Native plants have lived here in the Midwest for thousands of years, and have adapted to endure our natural weather and water conditions. So native plants do not require watering, fertilizing and regular mowing, and that results in a 70% to 80% savings in maintenance costs over traditional lawns and landscaping.
  


• Rain Gardens are beautiful solutions to wet pockets or drainage problems in lawns. The flowers and plants in this collection draw rain water down into the soil where it recharges groundwater, without leaving standing water.
  


• Wildlife thickets, a little backyard habitat—a diverse selection of 6-12 native shrubs and small trees, surrounded by native perennial grasses and flowering plants—is all that you need to attract and retain wildlife in your home landscape. We will design your Trillium Wildlife Thicket to provide an attractive sequence of colorful blooms and interesting structure—as well as intriguing wildlife activity—throughout the entire year. You’ll bring nature close to home by providing food, water and shelter for a wide variety of birds, butterflies, toads, and other interesting and beneficial creatures.
  


• Hardscapes, such as walkways, patios, seatwalls and paths, enhance any landscaping plan. These creations form the infrastructure, defining the lines and look of the landscape. Trillium works in stone, brick, slate, permeable pavers and other materials that bring out your landscape’s beauty.
